Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 5 October 2026

These are the terms you agree to when you use our site or buy from us. We have written them as plainly as we can. If anything is unclear, email hello@butcherben.co.uk.

About us

Butcher Ben is a meat-box service trading from Telfit Farm, North Yorkshire, United Kingdom. “We”, “us” and “our” mean Butcher Ben. “You” means you, the customer.

Placing an order

When you place an order you are making us an offer to buy. A contract is formed when we send you an order confirmation email.

Prices on the site are in pounds sterling and include VAT where it applies. Delivery is free on every order.

We do our best to keep prices accurate, but if we spot a clear pricing error we may cancel the order and refund you in full before dispatch.

Payment

We take payment for your first box when you place your order at checkout. For a regular order, each later box is charged automatically to the same card shortly before it is packed, and we email you before every charge. Add-ons and gift boxes are charged once.

If a payment fails we will email you and try again. If it still fails we will pause your account until you update your details.

Regular orders

You can skip, pause, change how often it comes, move your next box or cancel your regular order in your account, at any time before the cut-off for your next box: up to 72 hours before it is dispatched. To change the cuts in your box, email hello@butcherben.co.uk before the cut-off. After the cut-off the next box will already be on its way.

There is no minimum term and no cancellation fee.

Cancellations and refunds

Because we are selling perishable food, the standard 14-day cancellation right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations does not apply once an order has been dispatched.

If something is wrong with your order — short, damaged, or not up to scratch — tell us within 48 hours of delivery with a photo and we will refund or replace it. No quibble.

Our responsibility to you

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit.

For everything else, our total liability for any single order is capped at the value of that order.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top will change when we do. The version that applies to your order is the one in force on the day you place it.

Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any dispute will be dealt with by the courts of England and Wales.
